About Me
My name is Blake Hadley. I attended Clear River for approximately 2 years and then went on the church plant with South Grove in 2019. My wife and I left South Grove in late 2021. During my time at South Grove, I was a small group leader who longed to see the members of my group know and love Christ. However, I was never given the tools, knowledge, or means to faithfully lead that group. I said things that were unbiblical and I was a poor leader overall. I look back on my time with South Grove and Clear River and I’m saddened by my pride, immaturity, and lack of humility. But, where am I now?
I am currently still living in Athens, GA with my wife and my soon-to-be born son. I am currently working toward my MA in Theological studies through Westminster Theological Seminary’s online program. Westminster is a seminary located in Pennsylvania. I praise God for Westminster, where I have come to know Christ more deeply and thus love Him more immensely. Although I am attending a predominately Presbyterian seminary, I am now a member of a Baptist church. This church is currently working toward becoming an elder-led congregational church with a plurality of elders (pastors). My love for the local church has grown more in the last 6 months than I imagined was possible. Finally, I am just an ordinary guy, saved by an extraordinary Savior who longs to see his friends thrive and grow in Christ.
WHy start this blog?
For one, I love writing and I love writing about theology. Two, I hope to aid those who have left or are considering leaving The Network. Some of my writing will directly address The Network, but most of it will be addressing various theological topics. Finally, I love the church. I long to know the Lord more and I want the same for other Christians. My intention in starting this blog is to act as one that points to Christ.
For those who have left or are considering leaving a Network church, I understand where you are coming from. As someone who once was zealous for these churches, I get it. I hope you find this blog to be a small help as you seek to make sense of God. Leaving the Network, or even thinking about it, is hard and confusing. I pray that this blog will aid you as you seek to know your God.
